We are often obsessed with skincare on our faces but what about our body? It is just as important but I guess cause no one sees our body as much its natural for the focus to be on our face. It is easy for me to say but I have been guilty of ignoring my skincare routine on my body. I have keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) on my legs so I always wanted to get hold of a good exfoliator and tried exfoliating on off but now I am on serious hunt to try best exfoliators. The two I have tried are Naturium the Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash and Skinfix Resurface+Glycolic Renewing Scrub.
Naturium The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash
The Naturium The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash is said to be vegan friendly and contain a blend of AHA acids such as glycolic, pyruvic, lactic and tartaric acids and also red algae stated to provide hydration. The wash is stated to have the benefit of Cleansing, exfoliating, hydrating and resurfacing and that it helps to address rough and bumpy textured skin.
Texture of this body wash is smooth and I can confirm there no mirco-exfoliating beads so it literally feels like a bath/shower gel but with the cream texture of a moisturiser. This does not give you the feeling one would normally associate with exfoliating which is rough and hard but this felt smooth and soft.

This comes in a handy pump bottle and a generous size of 500ml. The average price I have seen this is for £18, which is not bad for the size of the bottle. On my first application of this, my skin felt soft and smooth. I had to adjust to not having anything rough scraping against my skin. To ensure it really worked I let this sit on my skin for a couple minutes too. After a few weeks of using this at least 2 or 3 times a week, my skin felt smoother and the keratosis pilaris on my legs definitely appeared better than before but it did not disappear. I also have to caveat that I was also using body retinol so these would have contributed to the improvement in my skin. My skin felt also softer with those around me commenting on this too. Overall, I can say this is a good body exfoliant especially if like me you are allergic to salicylic acid. I would therefor give this a 7.5 out of 10. Mainly because I feel the exfoliation effect is not that strong.
Skinfix Resurface+Glycolic Renewing Scrub
The Skinfix Resurface Glycolic Renewing Scrub is described is described as a body peel containing glycolic and lactic acids and both chemical and physical exfoliators. It is stated that it can help with visibly polish, refine, brighten, and smooth rough, bumpy, and crepey skin caused keratosis pilaris.
The scrub contains beads within a thick white cream and so this offers a physical exfoliation to it. This comes in a 236ml tube and is currently priced at £32 at Sephora website. I personally find the price a bit steep, but it all depends on the quality too, right. When I used this I also tried to ensure I left it on for at least 2 to 3 minutes before washing it off.

This did make my skin feel softer and smoother and at the same time it wasn’t to harsh on my skin and I used this about 2 to 3 times a week and over this time my skin did feel smother and softer but nothing dramatic. I don’t think it made much difference to the keratosis pilaris on my legs. However, I find scrubs cumbersome and prefer something that easily glides off my skin but this is purely a personal preference. Overall, I think this is good but as I personally don’t enjoy scrubs that much and this didn’t make me change my mind on this and didn’t make anu difference to the keratosis pilaris on my legs I give this a 5 out of 10.
